6TH ANNUAL INSTALLATION ART FESTIVAL OPEN CALL
NPAK, in collaboration with OPIFICIO PUCA, announces the Open Call for the 6th Annual Installation Art Festival.
This year’s festival is dedicated to water as an element of nature and a carrier of memory, identity, movement, and transformation.
Water crosses territories, borders, and communities, carrying with it sediments, waste, life, memories, stories, and conflicts. In this sense, water becomes a lens through which to observe the transformation of territories and explore their social, cultural, and environmental histories.
OPIFICIO PUCA
OPIFICIO PUCA is an independent artistic ecosystem based in Sant’Arpino, near Naples, active since 2018. It is an alternative cultural platform focused on the development of new artistic languages and experimental practices.
OPIFICIO PUCA is simultaneously a space for exhibitions, multidisciplinary artistic production, and education, encompassing visual arts, theatre, music, cinema, and other creative fields.
Since 2021, OPIFICIO PUCA has been developing ՛՛Oh, Ah, Si!՛՛, a participatory artistic research platform along the Volturno River, exploring the relationship between local communities and the river ecosystem through workshops, open laboratories, exhibitions, participatory actions, and public presentations
Within this collaboration, the festival is conceived not only as an exhibition, but also as a process of research, experimentation, and collaborative artistic practice.
FESTIVAL FORMAT
The festival will take place in several stages.
In the first stage, the exhibition space will be transformed into an open studio, where artists will have the opportunity to work on site, develop and experiment with their ideas, create installations, and engage in creative dialogue with one another.
This stage will be accompanied by open studios, meetings, and workshops, making the process accessible to visitors and the wider public.
In the second stage, the results of the creative process and collaborative work will culminate in an exhibition. The exhibition will not only present completed works, but will also reflect the research, experimentation, and dialogue that took place throughout the preceding stages.
In this way, the festival considers the creative process an essential and integral part of the artistic work.
THEMATIC FRAMEWORK
We invite artists to propose installation projects that explore water as a carrier of memory, identity, movement, and transformation, while also addressing issues such as water pollution, scarcity, climate change, and the management of natural resources.
IMPORTANT
This year’s festival format requires active participation not only in the final exhibition, but throughout the entire creative process leading to it.
We value projects that are open to developing through research, experimentation, and dialogue.
