Diana Hakobyan

History, while alienating the woman from itself, simultaneously gave her a chance to become its “other”, The “other” which was mainly considered as “alien” in pre-postmodern experience. Diana Hakobian is one of the few Armenian artists whose works attempt to unify (instead of confronting) the elements of modemistic strictness with postmodern ease of the “alien” with the “other”

This is why Diana’s works are concurrenty powerful and easy, deep in meaning and joyful, textual and pictorial.
