Nostalgia for…
A human being is condemned to nostalgia… This feeling brings together pain and pleasure, loss and the anticipation of regaining wholeness in the future.
A human being is condemned to die. All we have in this world is our body. It gives us emotions and sensations; through it, we perceive the world and think. The body is our support, our compass, our home, and at the same time, our dictator. We feed it, protect it, wash it, heal it, maintain it through physical activity, dress it…
It is impossible even to imagine our existence without the body. I would then miss the aroma of bitter coffee in the morning, the fresh taste of a cold orange, the rays of sunlight gently warming delicate skin, the embrace of a loved one…
In my thoughts about death, nostalgia gradually pushed fear aside, and this inexplicable longing opened a new path toward understanding the transience of life.
