The night brings together artists of Armenian descent who grew up elsewhere. A place of belonging, reconstructed through memory carried across borders, becomes a creative force of its own.
The night opens with Margenrot presenting her new album Antuni. Armenian chants, chorales and field recordings collide with electronics and breakbeats.
Then HyperKavkaz takes over. The label and collective has made it its mission not to make Armenian culture sound modern, but to adapt modernity to Armenian culture. Bold, playful and uncompromising, HyperKavkaz recently took over Paris with a packed showcase that brought together a fiercely engaged diasporic community. Now they bring that energy to Yerevan.
Hovsep, HabibTati and Azat Darabyan move across Armenian edits and pop references, experimental electronics, footwork, hardcore, UK bass and club mutations. All served with maximum swagger.
