Since August 2019, the Storyteller’s Cafe NGO, through the support of the U.S. Embassy in Armenia, has implemented the #BridgingStories II project. The project is led by National Geographic photographer John Stanmeyer. This is the second iteration of the project, the first one was in 2016-2017. After four months of work under the guidance of John Stanmeyer, Anush Babajanyan and Sabiha Çimen, the storytellers of the #BridgingStories II project are ready to exhibit their photographs and share their experiences with the public.

The exhibition opening will take place in Yerevan on January 24th, at NPAK/ACCEA (1/3 Buzand St.) at 4.00 p.m. The participants from Armenia and Turkey, as well as the photographers John Stanmeyer, Anush Babajanyan and Sabiha Çimen, will be present. The exhibition will be open until February 29th.

The purpose of the project is to bring together young photographers from Armenia and Turkey, joining the two groups through learning photographic storytelling techniques and sharing their stories. The project began with a photojournalism camp that took place from August 4-11, 2019, in Dilijan, Armenia. After the camp and prior to the exhibition, the participants photographed in their hometowns, creating images highlighting the similarities and parallels of interests and experiences shared by young people from both countries.
As participants photographed in their hometowns, they shared the images on the Instagram account #BridgingStories, which has more than 13,000 followers.
