About me
Northern countries, wonderful arctic nature and landscapes, people living there and their traditions interested me many years. That’s why after graduating from Yerevan State Pedagogical University I decided to continue my education in Finland – the country of Santa Claus and the northern lights. I’ve lived there three years. During that time I met great people, learnt a lot about their culture, saw the northern lights and enjoyed the breathtaking nature of the North. Now I want to share my experience and impressions through the photos which I took during my stay in that northern wonderland.

About Lapland
Lapland is a region in northern Europe. Located within the Arctic Circle it stretches across northern Norway, Sweden, and Finland and into Russia’s Kola Peninsula. The name Lapland refers to land inhabited by the Sami (Lapp) people, who are the indigenous people of the region. Sami people have inhabited the region for several thousand years and their best-known means of livelihood was reindeer herding.

Ice-fishing
Ice-fishing is a popular pastime in Finland. In late winter when the lakes are frozen and the days become longer the ice-fishing season starts. In these wide open mid-lake areas anglers can enjoy such a peace and harmony of nature and mind which is quite difficult to find anywhere else in the world.
