Since 2006, the annual “One Square Meter” Performing Arts Festival has been held at NPAK, and this year marks its 19th edition.
The central concept of the festival involves performances presented on a stage measuring one square meter. The festival is held annually, during which young artists and performers showcase their work to the audience and special guests.
Artists from all branches of performing arts are welcome to participate.
Rules
- Performances are limited to a one square meter stage.
- Audience seating is arranged in a circular formation around all four sides of the stage.
- Maximum duration: 45 minutes.
- There are no restrictions on genre or the number of characters.
- The NPAK team provides organizational and technical support.
- The festival does not cover travel costs.
Awards
- Participants’ Choice / Festival’s Grand Prize:
Directors vote for the best director. In the case of a tie, the voting process may go to a second round. Directors cannot vote for themselves. - Best Director / Decided by Special Guests
- Best Performer / Decided by Special Guests
- Best Literary Basis / Decided by Special Guests
- Best One Square Meter / Awarded by the NPAK Team
The best “One Square Meter” performance will be awarded 100,000 drams by the Armenian Center for Contemporary Experimental Art.
